Glimpse of Sand
music by Biletzky

Designed to conjure images in the listener's mind
of restless arabic nights, dusty caravans winding
through hot arid climes. Pretentious.

Biletzky: recorders

Find the Time
music and lyrics by Magnuson

"Wanderin' around with a peace of mind"
So many tracks. Production piece. Missing the melancholy
'old man' synth. Too much progressive rock growing up.

I'm tired of sleep and I'm restless
In my awakening I feel a presence
Shifts in shape and is basking in the glow
Of the unconscious moon above

And I will climb the mountains
And I will chase the haunting phantoms
Aware of the unknown in which we circle
Wanderin' around with a peace of mind...

I will build my castle when I find the time
And the stars will bring another day to practice
Someday I will cross a bridge unto a palace
Around again to find the time...

In my desert kingdom I find treasure
Buried in ancient smiles I remember
Prophecies and mantra and it's falling with the sands
Found within a stranger's hand

And I will find the essence
And I will greet its ghostly presence
Aware of the unknown in which we circle
Wanderin' around with a peace of mind...

I will build my castle when I find the time
And the stars will bring another day to practice
Someday I will cross a bridge unto a palace
Around again to find the time...

Wanderin' around with a peace of mind
Around again to find the time...
Wanderin' around with a peace of mind
Around again to find the time...

Tsunami
music and lyrics by Magnuson

"Pacific prose Atlantic spit"
Groovy acoustic base. Emergence of the envelope filter.
'Permanent waves' and pick slide. The 'note'.

Rising within from the bottom
A volcanic hurricane scene
Souls from an island Atlantis
Bones swim in a dance on the sea
Harmonies stormin' the shoreline
While movies on the windows wipe rain
Clever the lava companion
Switch weather whispers remain

      Crashing ocean avalanche castles
Lunar surf buried in tidals of waves

            It keeps on fallin'
Fallin' in the shadows of rain
            Keeps on fallin'
The sky is fallin' with the tsunami rain

Floods in your life like an ocean
Curves of a lake focus shape
Tectonic scratches are made in the earth
A typhoon-eclipse shadow wake
Sudden the vacuous coast
Water dancing prophetic tides
Tsunami flash flood alert
Switch weather warm whispers lie

      Crashing ocean avalanche castles
Lunar surf buried in tidals of waves

            It keeps on fallin'
Fallin' in the shadows of rain
            Keeps on fallin'
The sky is fallin' with the tsunami rain

Riding those rollin' waves to nowhere
      Tycho-typhoon built
      Whispering wind is riding weather
      Pacific-prose Atlantic spit...

Kinner: bass

Blink of an Eye
music by Biletzky
lyrics by Magnuson

"As they sell you the end 'til you're ready to buy"
Delay loops gone mad. Brought back from the dead.
Monks. Cat-loop ripoff at end stolen with pride.

The sun cried its tears in a stain on the earth
In a groove in the road on the way to rebirth

An unspoken voice speaks of secrets of worth
Found in a poet's lost notebook buried in the earth

For the eagle will soar in a blink of an eye
As they sell you the end 'til you're ready to buy

Then the trees will all scream as you're losing your mind
Being told what to think 'til your life's passed you by

In a blink of an eye

Biletzky: electric guitar loops and vocals
Kinner: tenor basses
Magnuson: alto bass and vocals
Milyanovich: lead vocals

Melting into Something
music by Magnuson and Milyanovich
lyrics by Magnuson

"Frozen on the icy mirror in a fossil moment"
Secret wah sounds. Snappy snare and Tom bombs.
Dig that wall of Don. Metal Pedal has been sold. Goodbye.

The sheltered storm aground
A reason to watch the season
It drains down in the flood
Spiraling against all reason
Paperboy in the rain
Words bleed in and out of the water
Flows out to the sea
Settles down upon the bottom

Forged in the snow and the wind
Can't figure out which or when
Lost in the days searching the weather
      Only finding what I discover

Hurricane window pane
Reflections cast out through the shutters
Of fish-eye-lens ports on doors
Trembling ripples on the water
Frozen on the icy mirror
In a fossil moment
Gallery of an ice cube's fear
Of melting into something

The winter air it is so bitter
The snow gives pause to reconsider
Chills the bone to hear its voice
Wondering when it made that choice

            Chariot rainbow through the rain
Mists winter color on spring summer days
Carriage clouds drawn in the reigns
            Storms the oceans
            Sun rises, sun sets anyways...

Mysterious Logic
music by Kinner
lyrics by Magnuson

"I could very well be the clock man but I don't tell any time"
Tune from years ago. Resurrected. 6/8 time. Spooky mellow.

I'd inspire within a wise man
But I don't have the mind
I'd inspire within a wise man
But I don't have the mind
Well the hangman's comin' down that mountain
You know he's comin' my way tonight

Once I met the bright man
But he didn't shine any light
Once I met the bright man
But he didn't shine any light
You know the hangman's comin' down that mountain
He may already be here tonight

Well once I saw the joke man
But I didn't laugh at his rhymes
Well once I saw the joke man
But I didn't laugh at his rhymes
I asked him when the hangman's comin'
He said to tell would not be right
So I followed him down that dark path
You know I followed him throughout the night

I could very well be the clock man
But I don't tell any time
I could very well be the clock man
But I sure don't tell any time
Well the hangman's on my trail now
So today I'll play the game with time
'Cause I don't know about tomorrow
I've got to leave the past behind

Kinner: bass and classical guitar solo
Magnuson: lead vocal, drums and electric guitars
Milyanovich: electric guitar and solo

Burning the Midnight Oil
music by Magnuson
lyrics by Dale Mitchell and Magnuson

"The road don't know where I've been but it knows the shape I'm in"
Revved-motor slide. Leather pants video. Good road tripper.
Possible lawsuit. The Wind never found the time.

It seems to me the road don't know
North from south, rain from the snow
The road don't know where I've been
But it knows the shape I'm in

The road don't keep me up at night
And the miles I've passed don't make things right
I'm screamin' through the Delta on a mission unknown
Asking all the questions a whiskey bottle don't know

      The road travels in distance
The road is out of miles
Everyone's burning the oil around midnight

I can't recall if I left or when I arrived
The road has a way of healing the deaf and the blind
You can't argue with what's real or pretend it isn't so
'Cause the road knows who's coming and whose got to go

      The road travels in distance
The road is out of miles
Everyone's burning the oil around midnight

It seems to me the road don't know
North from south, rain from the snow
The road don't know where I've been
But it knows the shape I'm in

Drivin' those wheels home
I'm drivin' my wheels home

Biletzky: lead vocals and electric & slide guitar
Kinner: bass
Magnuson: drums, acoustic guitar and vocals

Cold Consciousness
music by Magnuson
lyrics by Magnuson and Dale Mitchell

"And as I sleep I dream of sweet pure rain"
Old man of the bunch, circa 1989. Atmospheres Suite.
Best outro. Erased recordings. Play it again, Tom.

As I walk I feel the cool, brisk breeze
I see the spirits and I feel their needs

They feel so cold and empty that their lives are ice cold dreams
Their emptiness excused by false realities

Time and time again the winds blow cold at night
I hear them whisper endlessly and I feel their fight

They feel they are rejected for their insecurities
Their anger is projected from cold mentalities

And as I sleep I dream of sweet, pure rain
It begins to fall and I feel my pain

The world is cold and empty and its souls are masked by fame
But you've got to start a fire with just one single flame

As I walked I felt the cool, brisk breeze
I dreamed I was a spirit and I felt their needs

I felt so cold and empty cause my life was an ice cold dream
My emptiness excused by harsh reality

Biletzky: piano synth and vocals
Kinner: bass and vocals
Magnuson: drums, 12-string acoustic & electric guitar and vocals
Milyanovich: lead vocals, electric guitar and solo
